As parkruns slowly return across the country, Mountain Drive was among them, and they received lots of positive feedback from their parkrunners and volunteers:
“It worked like a well-oiled machine! It was amazing how quickly we fell back into our routine.”
“The (virtual volunteer) app is super easy to use and the best comments back from the Timekeepers is that the phone stays on without going to screensaver mode. So well done to the developers, because that always made us nervous that we’d tap by mistake or miss a finisher in the panic to get the screen back!”
Sophia Klopper completed her 99th parkrun on 14 March 2020 at Ventersburg parkrun, then parkruns in South Africa were cancelled due to the Covid19 restrictions.
On 29 May 2021 certain parkruns were re-opened, including Sophia’s nearby Sand River parkrun in Virginia. Sophia took part so that she could achieve her long awaited 100th milestone.

Sand River parkrun was very pleased and fortunate to be host to this remarkable parkrunner’s achievement and to have a good story to tell.
